Case Study

Skye Resources

Mandate: full service investor relations program
Date: 2005 to 2007

From junior to emerging mid-tier nickel producer

Skye Resources is an emerging mid-tier nickel producer in a sector that has traditionally been dominated by very large multinational producers. In this demanding environment, Skye has assembled a seasoned, technically sophisticated management team and acquired the rights to an established lateritic nickel project (the Fenix project) in Guatemala. In 2005, Skye engaged Equicom to craft and communicate key messages to investors about the superior quality of its management team and newly acquired asset. The market was receptive to the opportunity to participate in a smaller, growth-oriented investment alternative such as Skye. Additionally, the Company made strong progress in its development, highlighted by the release of its feasibility study in September 2006. As a result, Skye’s access to capital has been enhanced and its market capitalization has risen significantly.
